Fereshteh Forough, a resilient force born into the challenges of refugee life in Iran amid the aftermath of her family's escape from Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion, embodies an unwavering commitment to education. In the face of adversity, her parents imbued her and her siblings with the profound importance of learning. Her mother's resourcefulness, sewing and selling clothing to finance school supplies, laid the foundation for Fereshteh's journey.

As a teenager, Fereshteh witnessed the collapse of the Taliban regime, prompting her family's return to Herat, Afghanistan. Undeterred by the hardships, she pursued her Bachelor's in Computer Science at Herat University. Subsequently, she achieved a Master's degree from the esteemed Technical University of Berlin in Germany. Returning to Herat University, she dedicated nearly three years to shaping young minds as a member of the Computer Science faculty.

In 2015, Fereshteh took a monumental step by establishing Code to Inspire (CTI), the inaugural computer coding school for girls in Afghanistan. Stepping into a leadership role, she oversees all facets of operations and fundraising remotely. Under her guidance, CTI has empowered over 550 students through coding and graphic design classes. Fereshteh's enduring vision centers on a prosperous future for her homeland, envisioning a landscape where young women are pivotal contributors to the economy and overall success.
